This grant is designed to cover core and service delivery costs, helping supplementary schools in Kensington and Chelsea to enhance their support for children and young people. The focus is on improving quality and ensuring that all supplementary schools have an equal opportunity to work towards achieving an NRCSE Quality Mark.
Key prioritise for this grants programme are as follows:
- High-Quality Service Delivery: Ensuring that teaching and activities are of high quality, providing students with excellent educational and personal development opportunities, enhancing their learning and wellbeing
- Building Strong Foundations: Establishing a solid organisational structure to support the long-term success of the supplementary school and ensuring sustainability for the local community and young people.
- Achieving the Quality Mark: Working towards securing a recognised Quality Mark, such as the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE) Quality Mark, to validate the school's commitment to high standards of teaching and governance.
- Financial Sustainability: Developing strategies for long-term financial health, ensuring that supplementary school can continue providing valuable services to young people despite potential funding challenges.
- Robust Policies and Procedures: Implementing clear, and effective policies (safeguarding, attendance, health and safety).
The total pot available for funding is £65,000, with grants of £3000 made available to support supplementary schools in Kensington and Chelsea.
