Health and Wellbeing

The local voluntary and community sector provides a wide range of services to support the health and wellbeing of residents in Kensington and Chelsea. It also works closely alongside colleagues from the Council and local NHS services to help inform the local health agenda.

For more information about our work, please look at the Self-Care case studies on our website.

KCSC strategic objectives for health & wellbeing

  • Establish the VCS as a leader within the health and wellbeing agenda
  • Co-ordinate voluntary, community and statutory sector clinical and social care relationships
  • Build and sustain the voluntary and community sector, and communities’ voice and role in the design and delivery of health and wellbeing services that aim to reduce health inequalities
  • Support commissioned organisations in their delivery of good health and social care services

What do we do:

  • The health team manages social prescribing programmes (more information in the link below). Until March 2025 we managed two programmes My Care My Way self-care, and Healthier Futures North Kensington. As of April 2025, we will only manage My Care My Way self-care. A new programme to replace Healthier Futures is expected from the NHS soon.
  • We support two health focussed voluntary sector forums (see more on the Forums page):
    • Health and Wellbeing Forum
    • North Kensington Health and Wellbeing Network
  • Co-ordinate VCS engagement and delivery in health and wellbeing generally - for example through the vibrant Healthy Communities programme
