Invitation to London's Social Enterprises to gain Cyber Essentials Accreditation

Submitted by zina serageldin on

Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed certification scheme designed to help keep your enterprise safe from cyber attacks.

In some instances when a Social Enterprise applies for grant funding, the application form has made it a pre-requisite that they have the Cyber Essentials accreditation before they can submit an application. This is becoming more and more prevalent Cyber Essentials costs c£300 (tiered depending on employee head count), a cost that a Social Enterprise may struggle to justify. This programme removes that cost barrier, enabling access to more funding whilst also upskilling the Social Enterprise and helping them to become a more cyber aware business.

What is Cyber Essentials? Cyber Essentials is an effective, Government backed scheme that will help you to protect your organisation, whatever its size, against a whole range of the most common cyber-attacks. Cyber-attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked. The advice provided is designed to prevent these attacks.
