Match Trading Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises across London that provide sports and physical activity for young people to help them boost their income and build financial resilience whilst investing in youth sports.
The following levels of Match Trading Grants are available:
- Grants of up £15,000 for Trade Up Level.
- Grants of up to £25,000 for Scale Up Level.
Successful applicants will receive 20% of the grant upfront to kickstart their growth, with the rest paid quarterly as their trading income increases.
Funding will support youth sports organisations to increase their trading income over 12 months. This can include trading activities directly related to youth sports, such as contracts with schools or local authorities, or other types of trading, such as catering, events, or merchandise sales, with profits used to support youth sport activities.
The focus will be given to investment in youth sports and activities in underserved communities.
Grants will also come with a 12-month tailored programme of learning support worth over £11,00, including eight days of group learning, Action Learning Sets, and study visits.
At the end of the funding period, groups must commit to using at least 75% of their trading profits to improve access for young people for at least another 12 months.
The programme will begin in March 2025.
