VCS Assembly: Connecting with Information and Advice services in Kensington and Chelsea

Registration is closed for this event
Bringing all stakeholders together to assess the current picture within Kensington and Chelsea and what it means for residents.

Following our last ‘A Fairer Place’ Cost of Living Event held in May this year, KCSC will be holding its next Assembly. It will focus on how we can improve meeting the needs of residents through connecting better together across information, advice and guidance services and wider voluntary and community sector services. The assembly will run training workshops in areas that aim to strengthen collaboration and gather insights that will help shape future developments.

There will be a formal introduction to the Advice Partnership as well as discussions about the role of partnerships and how the Advice Partnership can work with the VCS and Statutory sectors.

The Guest speaker will be from the national organisation Advice UK and the workshops below aim to strengthen collaboration and gather insights that will help shape future developments:

  • Want to know more about E-Visas?

This workshop run by North Kensington Law Centre will provide a ‘How to’ on E-Visas.  It will provide an insight for organisations who will potentially field queries and requests about E -Visas from their clients to assist in setting up digital accounts and accessing documentation.

  • Did you know the deadline for migration to Universal Credit is fast approaching and what this will mean?

This interactive workshop run by Citizens Advice Kensington and Chelsea will explain what the changes mean for clients who are currently claiming 'legacy benefits' that will be replaced by Universal Credit. There will be a  discussion on what action those clients need to take and in what timeframes, as well as the potential hurdles to receiving their first Universal Credit payment.

  • How will using Plinth support my organisation making a referral into the Kensington and Chelsea Advice Partnership?

This workshop run by Plinth and Nucleus will provide voluntary and community organisations with the knowledge of how to use Plinth as a referral tool to refer residents to advice agencies for further support.

  • Where should the provision of advice be?

This workshop run by KCSC will provide the opportunity for workshop participants to discuss the best places for reaching residents to provide advice.

Sign up to two workshops on arrival.
