KCSC's model policies are a useful resource for new organisations wanting to develop their policy framework, or for existing organisations who are looking to develop their existing policies. Templates should only be used as a starting point however - every organisation should have policies that reflect their particular values, applicable laws and ways of dealing with situations.
It is crucial that organisations not only adopt appropriate policies but also make them accessible to staff, ensure relevent members of the team know how to implement them, and make sure they are reviewed and updated incrementally and after serious incidents.
